WEST OF TEXAS

West of Texas aims to use hunting as a vector to tell the real story of wildlife through the perspective of data driven research, and those researchers who have dedicated their lives to further prevent the loss of wild habitat.

West of Texas balances the very best of character-driven hunting/travelogue with the vast visuals of often-remote surroundings. Whether immersing with native Indians of Mexico or traversing dynamic mountainsides, each episode of West of Texas will include the rich and dynamic politics, natural history, flora, fauna, food, and people. Where other filmmakers cast a small net into shallow waters, West of Texas tells fuller, richer stories that explore, educate, and connect viewers to people and wildlife they likely would never see otherwise.

WEST OF TEXAS is an thirty minute-long documentary series following professional hunter, Stephen West as he explores the world in search of people lost in time, wild locations pivoted in habitat loss, and advocating the conservation of wildlife in regions that might otherwise be overlooked. —The goal of each episode is to connect with and better understand different peoples, cultures, traditions and communities as they relate to the wildlife and the questions created by landowners and hunters alike. 5 of the 8episodes are Texas based. 3 adventures will aim to tell stories in remote and far reaching locations, Stephen West organically develops narrative through the characters and stories that define these uncommon landscapes, ultimately changing our perspective on the significance and meaning of why preserving wildlife is impertinent to defining our future.
